Good morning,
I just wanted to update everyone on what we are up to and where things are at in our union.
Since my last update we have filled all of our board and committee positions.
We have set our budget for the year and had it passed.
We are preparing to go into bargaining negotiations for The Mackenzie Art Gallery who’s executive have prepared well ahead of me getting involved and CUPE National have been a huge help.
Our own Bargaining committee has been picked and is going for Bargaining training along with the MacKenzie Committee this Monday (today), we will be meeting soon and making a strategic plan and timeline for our bargaining.

We will be sending out a survey in the coming months which will ask what you want from bargaining, please be sure to fill it out and send us any suggestions you may have through the survey.
It will give everyone the chance to have their say on what they would like to see dealt with at bargaining and will give us a list of priorities.

I am looking into some merchandise that fits into our budget to make our membership more visible coming into negotiations.
Our website has been reviewed and brought up to date with more to come.
Our bylaws are ready to be voted on, and once ratified by our membership, we will just have to wait for Cupe national to rubber stamp them and then we can have Hybrid meetings.
I’m sure there is more that I am forgetting but we will update you again in the future.
The last thing I want to do is thank everyone who has gotten involved in the union, since I have been voted in.
Our executives, Stewards, Trustees and general membership thank you all for your hard work and attending meetings where possible, your participation is what makes this union function and I appreciate all the help I have recieved.
Kind Regards,
Barry Joyce,
Union President,
